What's new in Splitt: tap the numbers, reach the detail

October 29, 2026 · 3 min read

This week we polished three things you use every day. Nothing flashy: small details that make Splitt feel faster and more yours. All three are free.

👆 Tap a number, see the detail

Improvement · free

Many of you were tapping the balance or the month total expecting something to happen. You were right — now it does. Tap "owes you" or the balance and Splitt takes you to your history, to the expenses behind that figure. Same with the This month total: one tap and you see where it comes from. And your profile picture now opens settings directly.

It's a small change, but it changes a lot: the numbers stop being a label and become a door.

⚖️ Record what you already owed: starting balance

New feature · free

Almost nobody starts from zero. When you create your shared space, you can now add a starting balance: whatever you already owed each other before installing Splitt (the last trip, the dinner one of you paid, the furniture). You enter it once and your balance starts where you really are, not at €0.

It works even if for now you're using it on your own: you leave the starting point noted down and, when your partner joins, the accounts already match reality.

🔎 A History with more personality

Improvement · free

The History had filled up with good sections (movements, chart, categories, people, subscriptions…). Now each one has its own colour, icon and subtitle, just like Settings. You can tell them apart at a glance and finding what you need takes seconds, with no blind scrolling.

In case you're wondering

Splitt is still free for the essentials: logging expenses with no limit, seeing your balance in real time and settling up. The free plan has ads and there's an optional Premium, but following the two of you's money is free and will stay that way.

We're a small team building this so couples stop arguing about money. Many of these tweaks ship because you ask for them; if there's something you'd like to see, write to us from the app.
